Chocolate Chip Balls

Do you ever just want to make something really yummy, but then you stop and think, is it healthy for me?

Well these little chocolate chips balls are yummy and healthy. Full of protein, fibre and natural sweetness one little ball will fill you up and give you that satisfied feeling that you’ve had a treat, and that it was good for you.

Coconut flour is a great gluten free flour replacement as it is chock full of fibre and natural sweetness.

Nut butters are great to use in cookie recipes as they provide added protein, healthy fat, fibre, vitamins and minerals which all help you to feel full so you can eat just one cookie.

Flaxseed is a great egg alternative and helps to bind things together, plus is offers you omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, as well as magnesium, potassium, iron and vitamin E.

Adding in fruit to these chocolate chip balls lends it the natural sweetness you want in a cookie yet without a lot of added sugar.

Often I will chop up pieces of eighty percent dark chocolate into this recipe or I will use dark or bittersweet chocolate chips as I want the chocolate flavour without all the added sugar.

These chocolate chip balls are great to pop in lunch bags, take to a party or just have on hand for when you get a craving for some chocolate goodness.
