School and Work Lunch Ideas

September brings beautiful autumn days, and back to school routines. Many struggle with school and work lunch ideas, so here are some ideas for those of you with food allergies or those who simply want to pack healthy options.

Wraps- Look for healthy wraps in your grocery store. La Tortilla Factory makes gluten free teff wraps for those looking for gluten free options. Wrap It Up Raw offers wraps that are made with flax seed and are one of my go to wraps for healthier options. Use steamed cabbage leaves and romaine lettuce leaves for wrapping up sandwich fixings. Creating healthy subs using sliced English cucumbers stuffed with cream cheese, tuna fish, ham or turkey slices is a fun lunch for kids.

Avocados- pack an avocado for lunch, slice it open add a dash or salt and a little healthy salad dressing and it makes the perfect lunch or snack. Toss in some organic corn chips and cut up vegetables

Muffins- Healthy homemade muffins made with no added sugar are great for lunches. Check out my gluten free, dairy free oatmeal muffins.

Leftovers– Leftovers from dinner make great lunches, remember to cook extra the night before. Chicken for chicken sandwiches, or extra casseroles can be heated up and taken to school in a wide mouth thermos
