Healthy Dog Treats

Healthy Dog Treats

Have you ever read the ingredients on the dog biscuits you buy for your dog? Hmm, not the healthiest of ingredients.

Today I set out to make some healthy doggy treats for our dog Buddy- He seems to like them and they took only a few minutes to make. Try them and let me know if your pooch likes them too!

If you have a schnauzer you can add in a little bit of mashed banana- both my sister and friend have a schnauzer and they love bananas- Buddy does not like banana so I opted for pumpkin and applesauce.

  • 1/3 cup pumpkin pureedog treats 1
  • 1/3 cup water or beef or chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp smooth all natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • pinch cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  1. Mix all ingredients in a food processor
  2. Drop little balls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake 325F for about 5 minutes
  3. Store in the fridge or freezer and give to your dog as a treatdog treats 2
