brainDo you experience afternoon brain fog and you just can’t concentrate on the task at hand?

Do you walk into a room and think to yourself, now what was it that I was looking for? Many call this having a senior moment, but in fact this is not normal and its the body telling you that it is lacking in a vital nutrient- fat! Yes fat, the good kind, not the bad kind.

Our brain needs fat to do all the many tasks we ask of it.  These past decades we were told that fats were bad for us and to follow a low fat diet. Guess what,  nothing could be worse for  your brain and we are seeing that with the rising rates of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

In his recent book, The Grain Brain, Dr. David Perlmutter discusses the many foods that help our brain to function so that we do not experience that ‘seniors’ moment.

Healthy fats like coconut oil, avocado, wild caught fish and walnuts are all good healthy fats that our brain and body needs.

If you or someone you love is experiencing brain fog, forgetful moments or early onset Alzheimer’s think about adding more healthy fats to the diet.
