On the Love Child Organics website, you’ll find a simple but powerful statement, “It all begins with Food” Nothing could be truer.

As parents, our intention is to feed our babies with tender love and care and yet many baby food companies fill their foods with additives and unnecessary ingredients.

Love Child Organics, the brain child of Leah and John Cameron, came out of the need that they wanted to be able to feed their babies, wholesome, convenient foods when they just didn’t have the time to make homemade.

They noticed that most of the baby food in the stores had excess fillers and sugars which was not what they wanted to feed their young children.

So many companies have been born from people desiring the best for themselves and their families; thank goodness for that!

Not only is Love Child Organics a true Canadian Company, but they landed the biggest closing deal on the hit show Dragons Den on CBC.

Love Child is committed to making 100% organic, convenient, tasty food for babies and toddlers.

Their snacks are nutritious, delicious and contain no artificial flavours, GMO’s, sugars, preservatives or additives. Their packaging is guaranteed BPS- Free and they choose to run their company as environmentally sustainable as possible from the use of low carbon packaging to ethical sourcing of their quinoa and other ingredients from farms that are committed to environmental protection, Fair Trade and poverty reduction.

From their organic fruit purees for starting babies 6 months and older onto solids, to their super blends of fruit, vegetables and quinoa and power yo’rridge containing yogurt, fruit and ancient grains for 8 months and older, they have you covered. The squeezable re-sealable pouches are great for lunch boxes, car trips or to pop in the diaper bag just in case.Love Child

Last week I asked my girlfriend to bring her 1 year old son Ethan over for some taste testing. I was eager to have a young child put their products to the test. I will be honest. I taste tested their products and I have to say for someone like me who has multiple food allergies they’re all delicious and foods I can eat. Do I have to be 8 months old to have my favourite; their pear puree? I think not! How convenient would these be for children and adults alike when on the road, at a ball game or after a work out?

Be sure to pick up some of these amazing products when you see them at your local grocery store or drug store. In Canada you may find Love Child Organics in Whole Foods, Target, Walmart, Longos, and Shoppers Drug Mart, just to name a few. Their products will be entering the US market in May 2014.

I will let these pictures tell you the story of our taste testing event! Ethan loved all the flavours of the Love Child Organics we gave him!

  1. I watched that Dragon’s Den episode, they’ve made a huge impact on the baby food market. Everyone is making a similar food to them now. It seems like the ingredients are all natural, organic, and whole, we all know these types of foods go bad. So, how are they shelf stable for so long?

  2. Hi Krystal, this is Leah from Love Child Organics. Thanks for your question. We make our products shelf stable through pasteurization (which requires much less heat than the process used for jarred foods) and also by obtaining exactly the correct ph by combining fruits, vegetables and a very small amount of lemon juice.
